Job summary

Leeton District Hospital in New South Wales seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department on a 12-week contract, starting as soon as possible. This is an in‑charge role in a busy ED, leading the team and coordinating patient flow in a regional setting.

The successful candidate will bring acute care experience, triage proficiency and a current ALS certification to manage high-volume presentations with confidence and care.

Qualifications

• Triage experience mandatory with rapid assessment and prioritisation.
• Current ALS certification required.
• Strong clinical judgment for fast-paced environments.

• Acute care environment with scope to practise advanced clinical skills and mentorship

Preferred Requirements

• Registered Nurse with demonstrated acute care experience
• Proven in-charge or team leadership experience in an emergency or acute setting
• Triage experience is essential, with competence in rapid assessment and prioritisation
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in emergency nursing
• Additional certifications in trauma or critical care nursing are advantageous
