Job summary

Port Macquarie Panthers is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to develop culinary skills while supporting a busy dining operation. You will assist with preparation, cooking and presentation, working with an experienced kitchen team to deliver high standards.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years in a busy kitchen, a Commercial Cookery qualification, and strong communication and teamwork. The role includes catering for functions and duties across the kitchen, with emphasis on food safety and FIFO.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in a busy kitchen environment.
• Commercial Cookery Trade Qualification.
• Previous function catering experience.
• Fantastic communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, presentation and service to members and guests.
• Catering for functions and events.
• Stock management including stock takes and wastage recording.
• Accept deliveries, check stock and ensure safe storage.
• Kitchen cleaning to maintain cleanliness and presentation.
• Follow FIFO and food safety practices.
