Rip Curl is seeking an Events & Partnerships Specialist on a fixed-term 9‑month contract based in Torquay. You will plan and deliver events across Australia and New Zealand, manage partnerships and activations, and coordinate the full delivery lifecycle from planning to wrap-up.

You will work with internal teams, external partners and community organisations to create memorable experiences and commercial value for the brand. Surf culture knowledge is advantageous.

From Bells Beach to GromSearch, great events don't just happen. They take planning, partnerships, attention to detail and someone who can bring it all together.

Rip Curl is looking for anEvents & Partnerships Specialist - Fixed Term 9 months based in Torquay to help deliver events and activations across Australia and New Zealand and build partnerships that strengthen our connection with the surf community.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves bringing people, partners and moving parts together to deliver great experiences. You’ll help plan and deliver Rip Curl events and activations across Australia and New Zealand, while building strong partnerships that extend our reach and create value for our brand and communities.

Your event portfolio will includeGromSearch, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, the Australian Indigenous Titles and other partnered events, alongside partnerships with organisations across the surf and community landscape.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of events and partnerships from planning through to wrap-up. That includes:

• Planning and delivering events and activations across Australia and New Zealand
• Building event plans, timelines, run sheets and action registers
• Coordinating suppliers, venues, equipment, travel and on-site logistics
• Working closely with internal teams, external partners and stakeholders
• Supporting on-the-ground event delivery and solving operational issues as they arise
• Managing and growing Rip Curl’s regional partnership portfolio
• Identifying sponsorship opportunities for Rip Curl-owned events, including GromSearch
• Coordinating partnership agreements, deliverables, approvals and activations
• Managing relationships with community and not-for-profit partners, including SurfAid, SurfGroms, boardriders clubs and SLSCs
• Tracking event and partnership budgets, supplier commitments and expenditure
• Measuring outcomes and preparing post-event reporting, insights and recommendations

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an organised, proactive operator who can keep an eye on the detail while working with a wide range of people.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Experience coordinating or managing events, activations, sponsorships or similar
• Experience managing event timelines, logistics, suppliers and budgets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning skills and attention to detail
• Confidence working with partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Sound judgement and the ability to identify and escalating risks when needed
• Knowledge of surf culture

Experience working across multiple markets, within a global consumer brand, action sports or sports marketing environment would be an advantage. A relevant qualification is welcome, but equivalent practical experience is equally valued.
