Job summary

Advanced Design Technology Pty Ltd is locating an enthusiastic RF Engineer in Fyshwick, Canberra, to design, verify and integrate RF circuits and antennas for complex electronic systems. Applicants should have a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and hands-on RF test experience.

The role offers opportunities to work closely with digital, FPGA/DSP, mechanical and systems engineers in a compact, capable team.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline (final-year students will be considered)
• Solid grounding in electromagnetic theory and RF/microwave circuit design
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment
• Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work well in a small, capable team

Responsibilities

• Design amplifiers, filters, oscillators and other RF/microwave circuits
• Model antennas and EM structures in full-wave 3D tools
• Lay out RF PCBs and work through fabrication and assembly
• Characterise and verify hardware in a well-equipped RF lab, using network analysers, spectrum analysers and related equipment
• Work closely with digital, FPGA/DSP, mechanical and systems engineers to integrate RF hardware into complete systems
• Document designs, test results and verification evidence

To support a rapidly expanding business, we are seeking an enthusiastic RF Engineer with demonstrated experience in designing, building and verifying RF circuits and/or electromagnetic structures associated with complex electronic systems. This position is based in Fyshwick, Canberra. Advanced Design Technology may consider supporting relocation within Australia for the right candidate.

What You’ll Work On

• Phased array and AESA front ends
• Novel, rugged and bespoke antennas
• Wideband, high-performance RF systems for electronic warfare and ISR

What You’ll Do

About You

Essential

• A degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline (final-year students will be considered)
• A solid grounding in electromagnetic theory and RF/microwave circuit design
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment
• A logical approach to problem solving and a genuine curiosity about how things work
• Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work well in a small, capable team

Desirable

• 2+ years designing RF circuits and structures
• Experience with CST or HFSS
• Experience with ADS or Microwave Office
• Exposure to phased arrays, EW or defence programs
