Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Return to Work Specialist in Australia to influence recovery paths and drive sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

You will work with injured workers, employers, and case managers to develop practical recovery strategies, leveraging clinical knowledge and injury management experience for broad career growth in one of Australia’s largest workers’ compensation providers.

Qualifications

• Experience in Occupational Rehabilitation or Injury Management is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to influence, coach and develop practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

As a Return to Work Specialist, you'll work closely with injured workers, employers and claims professionals to develop practical recovery strategies that make a real difference.

You’ll combine your clinical knowledge, injury management experience and stakeholder skills to support recovery and return-to-work outcomes across a diverse range of workplace injuries.

How you'll make an impact

As a Return to Work Specialist, you'll be the recovery and return-to-work expert within our claims team.

Working alongside Case Managers and employers, you'll identify barriers to recovery, provide strategic advice, influence return-to-work planning and support positive health outcomes for injured workers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert recovery and return-to-work guidance across a portfolio of claims
• Managing a small portfolio of complex and high-risk claims
• Supporting Case Managers with strategy and claim conferencing
• Identifying biopsychosocial barriers impacting recovery and work capacity
• Driving sustainable and meaningful return-to-work outcomes
• Conducting virtual and face-to-face workplace visits when required
• Building strong relationships with injured workers, employers, treating practitioners and internal stakeholders
• Providing coaching and leadership on recovery and return-to-work best practice within the team
• Supporting the management of both physical and psychological injury claims

About you

We're keen to hear from professionals with experience in Occupational Rehabilitation, Injury Management, Return to Work Coordination, Workers Compensation, Rehabilitation Counselling or Workplace Rehabilitation.

You will also possess:

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• A passion for helping people achieve positive recovery outcomes
• The ability to influence, coach and develop practical solutions
• Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health, rehabilitation or allied health discipline (highly regarded)

Workers Compensation claims experience is beneficial but not essential for candidates with transferable occupational rehabilitation or injury management experience.
