Efficient Recruitment Services Pty Ltd on behalf of Manesh Group – Palms Supermarket in Cairns City is seeking a Retail Store Manager to take day-to-day control of the supermarket, lift sales performance, and lead the store team.

Experience in high-volume grocery retail and strong leadership are essential. The role is full-time and on-site in Cairns, with salary between AU$80,000 and AU$90,000 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

Palms Supermarket in Cairns City is part of that retail division and serves a high volume of local shoppers every day. We are seeking a Retail Store Manager to take day-to-day control of the supermarket, lift sales performance, keep shelves and service standards consistent, and lead the store team.

Key responsibilities

• Decide the grocery, fresh food and household range carried in the supermarket and set how much stock is held on the floor and in the back room
• Fix and maintain service standards at checkouts, deli, produce and customer service
• Put in place buying and in-store marketing approaches suited to a Cairns supermarket and agree retail prices
• Plan and run store promotions, specials and local advertising so the supermarket’s range is visible to the community
• Keep accurate stock and sales records and do budgeting for the supermarket.
• Prepare and monitor the store budget so labour, waste and shrinkage stay under control
• Recruit, roster, train and supervise supermarket staff and coach them on merchandising and customer service
• Deal with day-to-day operational problems and customer issues
• Make sure the store meets workplace health and safety, food safety, security and company policy requirements.

Skills and experience required

• Minimum one year of relevant retail or supermarket management experience.
• Minimum Qualification Diploma or

Higher.

• Demonstrated ability to run a supermarket or similar high-volume grocery retail site, including range and stock decisions, pricing, promotions, staff leadership, budgeting and customer service
• Ability to work full-time on site in Cairns City and to meet the operational demands of a busy independent supermarket.
