Job summary

Assembly Talent is seeking an experienced Retail Operations professional to own store operations, systems and inventory across a multi-brand portfolio in Australia. Reporting to the Head of Retail, you will shape processes and decisions to support fast growth.

You will work with senior leadership and a small head office team, driving daily operational excellence, compliance and cost efficiency while enabling scalable expansion of the denim network.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in retail operations, large format store management or multi-site coordination.
• Strong Excel reporting and analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to guide store teams from head office.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day retail operations across VIC and NSW.
• Manage system administration, POS troubleshooting and retail software integrations across all store formats.
• Partner with store managers to provide daily operational guidance.
• Drive inventory control, stocktakes and stock transfers across the network.
• Oversee store maintenance, vendor contracts and facility management within budget.
• Audit and evolve retail policies, procedures and training materials to support scaling.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, cash handling and operational standards.
• Coordinate operational setup for new store openings, pop ups and refits.
• Track operational expenses and identify cost saving opportunities.

This is a rare chance to become the operational backbone for a growing denim business with a boutique network expanding fast across Australia. Reporting to the Head of Retail, you will take ownership of store operations, systems and inventory across a multi brand portfolio, working closely with senior leadership and shaping decisions rather than just carrying them out. As the network moves into its next growth phase, you would be one of the first people building the processes that support it long term.

What You’ll Own

• Leading day to day retail operations across a boutique network spanning VIC and NSW
• Managing system administration, POS troubleshooting and retail software integrations across all store formats
• Partnering with store managers and teams to provide daily operational guidance

Who Thrives Here

• Comes from an operations background, not a pure store management or customer service background
• If you are a store manager, this suits someone from a large format, high volume environment (think Rebel, H&M, Big W) who is already operational in how they work, rather than a boutique or single site manager
• 3+ years in retail operations, large format store management or multi site coordination, ideally within apparel or lifestyle fashionConfident using retail POS and inventory management systems
• Sharp numerical and inventory literacy, with strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to guide store teams from head office
• Comfortable travelling across VIC and NSW store networks
• A detail obsessed, adaptable approach and genuine interest in retail and denim culture
