Job summary

Charter Hall is seeking a highly capable Retail Manager to lead the management of premium Sydney CBD assets, blending retail, office and customer experience to create vibrant precincts.

You will own retailer relationships, drive leasing, budgeting and revenue, partner with internal teams across property management, asset management, facilities, development, finance and legal, and help deliver long-term value for the portfolio while upholding Charter Hall’s values.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years’ experience managing complex retail or mixed-use assets.
• Polished communication; build rapport with retailers, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, reporting and lease administration.
• Proactive, fast-paced problem-solver with ability to prioritise.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy in reporting.
• Tertiary qualification in property or related field is highly regarded.

Job description

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible Retail Manager role across some of Charter Hall’s most premium Sydney CBD assets. Sitting at the intersection of retail, office and customer experience, you’ll play a key role in shaping vibrant precincts that are valued by our tenant customers, visitors and communities. You’ll take ownership of retailer relationships, trading performance, lease administration and day to day asset outcomes, while partnering with high calibre internal teams to identify opportunities that enhance experience, performance and long term value across the portfolio.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Elevating the retail experience across premium Sydney CBD assets, ensuring our retail offering supports the broader precinct experience and reflects the quality of the Charter Hall portfolio.
• Building trusted retailer and stakeholder relationships through regular engagement, proactive communication and a genuine focus on creating strong customer outcomes.
• Driving commercial performance through leasing support, lease administration, budgeting, reporting, arrears management and revenue optimisation.
• Contributing to strategic asset outcomes by supporting asset plans, capital works, sustainability initiatives, valuation packs, reporting and future-focused improvement opportunities.
• Partnering with talented teams across property management, asset management, facilities, leasing, development, finance and legal to deliver seamless outcomes.
• Championing Charter Hall’s values by bringing energy, accountability and an active partnership mindset to the way you work every day.

What you’ll bring to the team

• A strong background in retail property management, ideally with 4-5 years’ experience managing complex retail or mixed-use environments.
• A confident, polished communication style and the ability to build rapport quick with retailers, customers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Commercial acumen, strong financial capability and confidence working with budgets, reporting, lease administration and revenue-focused outcomes.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work at pace, manage competing priorities and bring clarity to complex matters.
• High attention to detail, strong follow-through and confidence using systems to keep data, documentation and reporting accurate.
• Alignment to Charter Hall’s values, with the resilience, curiosity and drive to keep learning and contribute beyond the day-to-day.
• A tertiary qualification in property, business or a related field would be highly regarded.
