Job summary

The GPT Group is seeking a motivated Retail Manager to join the Sunshine Plaza team in Maroochydore, Queensland. You will oversee day-to-day retail management, build strong retailer relationships and drive initiatives to enhance centre performance.

With a focus on lease compliance, budgeting insights and delivering engaging retailer programs, you will shape the customer experience across a vibrant 300+ retailer, dining and entertainment destination, contributing to sustainable outcomes for the

Responsibilities

• Producing insights and trends on monthly and annual sales performance of retailers and assisting with centre financial reporting and business planning as required.
• Establishing relationships with key opinion leaders and key retailers to understand market conditions and respond to their needs.
• Contributing to the development of the Retailer Engagement Strategy and implementing initiatives with the Retail team.
• Monitoring lease compliance and debtors to identify and assist at-risk retailers.
• Contributing to the operational asset leasing process to align with the centre's strategic retail mix.

The role

We are currently looking for aRetail Managerto join the team at the celebrated Sunshine Plaza and take responsibility for the ongoing retail management component of the asset.

In the heart of Maroochydore, Sunshine Plaza is aretail, dining and entertainment destination that boasts over 300 specialty retailers, a bustling food precinct and cinema complex.

This includes building, maintaining and managing effective relationships with our retail tenants, monitoring and analysing budgets to assist with the management of the Centre’s financial performance and delivering initiatives such as lease adherence, retailer engagement strategy and retailer assignments.

What you will be doing

• Producing insights and trends on monthly and annual sales performance of retailers and any associated commodity group and assisting with centre financial reporting and business planning as required


• Establishing relationships with key opinion leaders and key retailers to understand market conditions, fluctuations in their business and ensure a proactive response to their needs as well as maintaining knowledge of competitor activity, developments and the potential impacts.


• Contributingto the development of the Retailer Engagement Strategy and together with the wider Retail team, implement initiatives.


• Monitoring lease compliance, ensuring delivery of retailer standards and proactively monitor the debtors’ situation to ensure that any critical retailers are identified early and managed.


• Contributingto the operational asset leasing process to ensure the strategic vision is achieved in the retail mix.

You will need to have experience in a retail management role combined with well-honed negotiation skills and a proven ability to deliver results. You will have a strong understanding of the Retail industry and the Retail Leases Act, coupled with the ability to develop and deliver business strategies in an innovative and dynamic way that results in strong centre performance across all key business indicators.

You are an individual that has a high level of financial understanding and commercial acumen and is able to identify key priorities and develop the timelines needed to achieve these goals.

You will also need exceptional communication skills and be able to present to, engage with andbuild effective working relationships with all stakeholders alike.

This role would suit a property professional with a strong understanding of the retail sector who is customer driven and passionate about continually improving results.
