Job summary

Sonova is seeking a Retail Internal Auditor for Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, you will execute the global store audit program, test internal controls, and support audit activities to strengthen compliance and minimise risk across a diverse store network.

You will travel regionally, collaborate with sales teams, and report findings to senior management. A finance-focused background and strong numbers ability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• A completed qualification in business, law or compliance.
• Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of business processes.
• Excellent English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual audit planning based on risk and KPIs.
• Conduct on-site store audits across Australia and New Zealand.
• Test internal control design and effectiveness; monitor compliance.
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
• Track action plans through to remediation.
• Ensure timely execution of ICS controls and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with global ICS team to support control owners.
• Support global internal audits and management responses.
• Undertake special audits and share insights with the store audit community.
• Travel approximately 20–30% of the time.

We're looking for a Store Auditor to join our Finance team and play a critical role in protecting the integrity of our store network. This is a hands-on compliance and internal audit position, giving you the opportunity to travel across our clinics, build strong relationships with store and sales teams, and directly influence how we operate as a business.

About The Role

Permanent Full-time and Sydney-based, this role reportsinto the Finance function and is responsible for executing Sonova's global store audit program across Australia and New Zealand. You'll plan and deliver on-site store audits, test the design and effectiveness of internal controls, and support internal audit activity, all with the goal of strengthening compliance, minimising risk and safeguarding company results. This rolerequires travel approximately 20-30% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual store audit planning based on risk and KPIs, making optimal use of available resources
• Deliver on-site store audits across Australia, New Zealand, checking compliance with company guidelines and legal requirements
• Monitor store key figures and perform regular data analysis as part of continuous auditing, identifying non-compliance and control weaknesses
• Develop recommendations to address fraud risk, optimise store operations, minimise losses and protect company results
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to stakeholders, including senior management and sales teams, and track open action plans through to resolution
• Ensure timely execution of internal control system (ICS) controls, reviewing and validating control design against global guidelines and risk assessments
• Test control effectiveness and partner with the global ics team to support control owners in designing and performing controls
• Monitor ics issues and action plans from self-assessments and external audits through to remediation
• Lead preparation and support for global internal audits, including management responses and remediation tracking
• Undertake special audits and investigations as required, and contribute to the global store audit community by sharing insights and participating in global initiatives

About You

• A completed qualification in business, law or compliance, with further training in audit, internal controls or finance
• 4-5 years' professional experience in auditing or internal control
• A structured, practice-oriented approach with a strong affinity for numbers
• Excellent analytical skills and a solid understanding of business processes
• A high sense of responsibility, self-motivation and initiative
• Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the resilience to navigate challenging situations
• A team player with assertiveness and a genuine entrepreneurial mindset
• Secure MS Office skills and confidence working with audit tools
• Excellent written and spoken English
