Job summary

ActewAGL is seeking an experienced Financial Controller Retail to join our Retail leadership team in Canberra. You will lead the integrity of financial reporting and provide critical insights to support performance, strategy and growth.

Reporting to the Group Manager Commercial Services Retail, you will oversee month-end close, dashboards, budgeting, forecasting and the annual audit, while mentoring the Retail Finance team and partnering with key stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in senior financial or management accounting roles.
• Proven knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and technical accounting principles.
• Experience improving financial processes while maintaining governance and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integrity and accuracy of Retail financial reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and accounting policies.
• Manage month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
• Deliver insightful analysis of revenue, margins and costs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and manage monthly Business Performance Reporting.
• Oversee year-end audit processes and support the preparation of statutory financial reporting.
• Provide technical accounting advice on strategic initiatives, products and business decisions.
• Partner with stakeholders across Retail Finance, Planning & Analysis, Billing, Treasury and broader business teams.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop members of the Retail Finance team.
