Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Retail Customer Service Officer at the Collins Street West Post Office in Melbourne. You will handle customer sales and services, process payments, manage mail lodgements, and promote products while building strong customer relationships in a busy post office environment.

Extensive training is provided on commencement, with a fixed-term part-time arrangement. Shifts are 5 hours daily (Mon-Fri) starting around 8:45am, 6-month assignment, with pay from $29.72/hour

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and/or cash handling.
• Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail and parcels regularly and stand for your shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer sales and service transactions with customers.
• Manage high value transactions accurately (cash, cheques, credit cards, EFTPOS).
• Conduct identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews.
• Promote products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and other promotional activities.
• Assist customers with mail and parcels lodgements and associated costs.
• Build rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs.
• Assist with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.
