Job summary

ZIMMERMANN, the Sydney‑born luxury fashion house, is seeking a Retail Buyer on a 12‑month fixed term contract to drive a global omnichannel buying strategy. You will help develop seasonal collections, quantify product across international retail and digital networks, and contribute to growth through data‑driven insights and cross‑team collaboration.

This role calls for at least 5 years in buying, strong range building and brand‑aware commercial acumen, and a hands‑on approach to OTB,

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a buying role within fashion or luxury.
  • Strong range building and product development experience.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance brand and financial outcomes.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using data to guide decisions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and reporting capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Merchandising and Planning to support range building, assortment planning, and product selection aligned to business strategy
  • Develop and execute buying strategies to achieve sales, margin, and performance targets
  • Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB), forecasting, and stock optimisation across global retail and digital channels
  • Analyse sales performance, market trends, pricing, and customer insights to inform decision‑making
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Creative, Production, Retail, Digital, and Marketing
  • Build strong relationships across the global retail network, including regular store engagement
  • Contribute to seasonal reporting, performance analysis, and forward planning
  • Support product lifecycle decisions, including carryover and end‑of‑life strategies

The Opportunity & Responsibilities

ZIMMERMANN is seeking a talented Retail Buyer to join our Buying team on a 12‑month fixed term contract, where you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering a global, omnichannel buying strategy.

In this position, you’ll support the development of seasonal collections and drive the selection and quantification of product across our international retail and digital network. You’ll contribute to business growth through a combination of commercial insight, strong analysis, and collaboration across teams.

As a Retail Buyer, your responsibilities will include:
