Job summary

The Lord Lyndoch in Lyndoch, SA is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive guest satisfaction.

Reporting to the Owner, you will balance guest experience, team performance and commercial results while being hands-on on the floor and behind the scenes. This is a full-time leadership role in a family-run Barossa Valley restaurant.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a restaurant or comparable hospitality operation.
• Strong leadership skills with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership.
• Understanding of sales, labour costs, wages, stock control and profitability.
• Ability to lead a team through busy services while maintaining high standards.
• Strong communication skills to manage challenging situations fairly and professionally.
• Practical, organised approach to planning, delegation and follow-through.
• Genuine commitment to staff development and hospitality excellence.
• Flexibility to work across a hospitality roster, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to deliver friendly, attentive and consistent table service.
• Maintain service standards and promptly address guest feedback and complaints.
• Manage function enquiries, bookings and event coordination from initial contact to delivery.
• Ensure restaurant, bar and function spaces are presented to a high standard.
• Monitor sales, labour costs and operating expenses; work with Owner/Head Chef to hit financial targets.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency and profitability.
• Provide clear direction during service and daily operations; support recruitment and development.
• Maintain records and follow financial and cash-handling procedures.
• Foster a positive, respectful workplace with accountability and teamwork.
• Maintain effective communication across front of house, kitchen and management.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth restaurant, bar and function space performance.
• Ensure adequate staffing, rostering and efficiency in labour use.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, WHS, liquor licensing and related rules.
• Build relationships with suppliers, guests and the local community.
