Job summary

Rowanos Restaurant in Croydon South, VIC, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our busy operation, oversee daily service, and drive guest satisfaction in a large, multi-area venue.

You will manage rosters, labour costs, and supplier relationships while working closely with the kitchen to maintain food quality and service standards. The role offers a full-time, hands-on leadership position with growth opportunities within the Rowanos group.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in restaurant management or a similar leadership position.
• Experience managing a busy, high-volume restaurant.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Sound understanding of restaurant financial performance, labour costs and stock management.
• Experience managing functions, group bookings and special events.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining excellent service standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on management approach.
• Experience with POS systems, reservation platforms and staff rostering software.
• Current Victorian RSA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the restaurant for smooth service.
• Lead, train, motivate and supervise front-of-house staff.
• Prepare staff rosters and manage labour costs.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and handle inquiries/complaints.
• Oversee reservations, large groups, private functions and events.
• Work with kitchen team to maintain food quality and service efficiency.
• Monitor restaurant sales, expenses and profitability; manage beverage stock and supplier relationships.
• Implement strategies to increase sales and upsell; improve customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, RSA and WHS requirements.
