Job summary

Accor’s ibis Mackay is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead daily front-of-house operations, deliver memorable guest experiences, and drive service excellence. You will manage restaurant and bar teams, coordinate with suppliers, monitor budgets, and train staff to uphold food safety and quality standards.

This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays, with full working rights in Australia.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for leading the next generation of hospitality leaders.
  • Previous experience in restaurant management or a supervisory role within the food service industry.
  • Ability to support and guide team members to reach operational expectations.
  • Strong organisational skills and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with restaurant management software and POS systems.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, cost control, and budget management.
  • Experience with staff scheduling, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and foster an inclusive workplace environment.
  • Familiarity with Australian food safety regulations and local compliance requirements.
  • Hold current Responsible Service of Alcohol(RSA - or ability to obtain)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require
  • Full working rights in Australia

Responsibilities

  • Ensure clear communication through service logs and cross-department collaboration
  • Drive performance against budgets, service standards, and customer satisfaction targets
  • Support team training, inductions, and compliance with food safety, safe work and hygiene standards
  • Manage inventory, coordinate with suppliers, and implement cost control measures to optimise profitability while maintaining quality
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Represent the restaurant professionally and build lasting relationships with customers, staff, and community stakeholders
