Job summary

Akiba Canberra Pty Ltd in Canberra is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house team in a busy, high-volume venue. You will take ownership of daily operations and ensure superior guest experiences.

You will oversee rostering, costs, staff training and KPI tracking, while maintaining venue presentation in collaboration with the Head Chef and senior management. This is a full-time leadership role offering clear progression within the group and a competitive salary.

Akiba is one of Canberra’s most established and recognisable restaurants, located in the heart of the CBD. We’re a high-volume, fast-paced venue built around bold Asian-inspired food, cocktails, great service and an energetic atmosphere.

We’re looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager with the confidence, leadership and gravitas to take ownership of the venue and lead a large, high-performing front-of-house team.

With 190 seats, approximately 30 floor staff, this is a genuine leadership role for someone who commands respect, leads from the front and knows how to run a busy Venue and is all about personal guest experiences.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and developing the FOH team
• Overseeing daily operations and service standards
• Rostering and labour management
• Training and team performance
• Stock, costs and KPIs
• Venue presentation and compliance
• Delivering a consistently excellent guest experience
• Working closely with the Head Chef and senior management
