Job summary

Crystalbrook Flynn in Cairns is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead one of the city’s vibrant dining destinations. You will set the tone on the floor, develop a confident, engaged team and deliver warm, energetic hospitality that keeps guests returning.

Working closely with culinary, hotel and marketing teams, you will drive commercial success, manage a rotating roster including evenings and holidays, and bring events and promotions to life while upholding RSA, food safety and WHS

Qualifications

• Proven management experience within a busy restaurant or comparable dining-led venue
• A genuine passion for food, wine and creating memorable dining experiences
• Commercial confidence across P&L, budgeting, rostering, labour management and cost control
• Experience recruiting, training and developing confident Food and Beverage teams
• A visible and supportive leadership style, with the ability to guide service and manage performance
• Clear communication, strong organisation and sound decision-making skills
• Knowledge of RSA, food safety, WHS and operational compliance requirements
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
• A current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• A Certificate IV in Hospitality is desirable but not essential

The Opportunity:

Flynn’s Italian is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead one of Cairns’ most vibrant dining destinations!

Bringing Italy to the tropics, Flynn’s Italian celebrates fresh regional produce, playful Italian flavours and generous shared dining. As Venue Manager, you will set the tone on the floor, develop a confident and engaged team, and create the kind of warm, energetic experience that keeps guests coming back.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with genuine scope to influence the ongoing success of the venue. You will combine strong people leadership and a passion for great service with the commercial focus needed to run a successful restaurant. Working closely with our Culinary, hotel and marketing teams, you will also bring events, activations and promotions to life that keep Flynn’s Italian firmly on the local dining map.

This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity.

The Talent:

You are an experienced restaurant leader who feels at home in the energy of a full dining room. You lead with warmth and clarity, know how to get the best from your team and bring the commercial judgement needed to make strong decisions for the venue.

You take pride in the entire dining experience — from the welcome and atmosphere to the food, wine and service—and understand how consistent standards and thoughtful details shape a restaurant’s reputation.

You will bring:
