Job summary

The Playford Hotel MGallery Collection in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead day-to-day operations and guest experience within its Food & Beverage team. This is a full-time permanent position with a salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

The successful candidate will partner with the Food & Beverage Manager and kitchen team to deliver high service standards, effective operational control and an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a Diploma or equivalent qualification or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in restaurant management or senior F&B supervisory role in a luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership to train, supervise, motivate and develop a service-focused team.
• Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, reservations, POS, stock, purchasing, budgeting and financial transactions.
• Good understanding of food safety, liquor licensing and Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus with Chefs and F&B team.
• Organise restaurant functions and events.
• Manage purchasing, pricing, and budget alignment for food and beverages.
• Maintain stock, sales, and financial records.

Originally built in 1998, The Playford has undergone a multi-million dollar refurbishment and features 182 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, together with Luma Restaurant and Bar, an award-winning dining venue.

The Playford Hotel MGallery is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and guest experience within its Food and Beverage team. This is a full-time permanent position with a salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per year. The successful candidate will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and kitchen team to deliver high service standards, effective operational control and an exceptional dining experience.

What you will be doing

• Plan menus in consultation with Chefs and the Food & Beverage team.
• Plan and organise restaurant functions and special events.
• Arrange the purchasing and pricing of food, beverages and other goods in line with budget requirements.
• Maintain records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions.
• Ensure dining areas are clean, functional, well-presented and compliant with health and safety requirements.
• Engage with guests and assess their satisfaction with meals and service.
• Select, train, supervise and support restaurant staff.
• Manage reservations, greet guests and assist with service as required.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering and assist with regular stocktakes.
• Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to maintain efficient service and high guest standards.

Your experience and skills

• A relevant Diploma or equivalent qualification. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in restaurant management or a senior food and beverage supervisory role, preferably within a high-quality restaurant, hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, supervise, motivate and develop a service-focused team.
• Sound knowledge of restaurant operations, reservations, point-of-sale systems, stock control, purchasing, budgeting and financial transactions.
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, liquor licensing and Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with a genuine focus on guest satisfaction and service excellence.
• A professional presentation and the ability to work collaboratively across Food and Beverage, Kitchen, Conference and other hotel departments.
