Job summary

Intrax Consulting Engineers in Melbourne is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Housing team. You will deliver residential designs for single dwellings, townhouses, and low-rise developments under guidance from senior engineers.

You will prepare calculations, plans and documentation meeting project requirements, collaborate with engineers, drafters and coordinators, and support client relationships through the project lifecycle while developing your technical judgement.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 3+ years’ post-graduate structural design experience, preferably residential/low-rise.
• Demonstrated experience designing timber, concrete and steel structures.
• Proficient with relevant design software and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver residential engineering designs for single dwellings, townhouses and low-rise developments.
• Prepare calculations, plans and documentation meeting technical and project requirements.
• Assist with client and stakeholder management and maintain strong relationships.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters and coordinators to ensure timely design delivery.
• Participate in design reviews and address technical queries with practical solutions.
• Develop technical judgement and assist in mentoring graduate engineers.
