Job summary

Assure Ability Pty seeks a Residential Care Officer to coordinate person-centred support for NDIS participants, translating plans into safe daily practice. You will work with participants, representatives, support workers, and internal teams to monitor quality, respond to issues and help participants achieve goals, independence and community inclusion.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s qualification in Community Services, Disability, Human Services, Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, Public Health, Nursing or related discipline, or equivalent substantial experience accepted by Assure Ability.
• Experience in Supported Independent Living, complex support, psychosocial disability, intellectual disability, ageing-related support.
• Training in trauma-informed practice, mental health first aid, positive behaviour support, manual handling, medication or high-intensity supports relevant to the participant cohort.
• Experience using NDIS care-management, rostering, reporting and collaboration systems.
• Experience mentoring frontline workers and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholder actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop a practical understanding of each assigned participant's goals, preferences, communication needs, strengths, risks, routines and approved support arrangements.
• Coordinate day-to-day service delivery so supports are consistent with current support plans, service agreements, participant choices and assessed risks.
• Support participant involvement in decisions about daily living, community participation, relationships, cultural identity, recreation and capacity-building activities.
• Contribute factual observations, service data and participant feedback to support-plan development, reviews, risk assessments and service-delivery planning.
• Support safe, respectful and homelike residential environments that protect privacy, dignity, personal property, cultural preferences and participant choice.
• Escalate repairs, equipment failures, fire-safety concerns, infection risks, food-safety issues and other environmental hazards through approved systems.
• Support emergency, evacuation, business-continuity and participant-specific contingency arrangements and ensure workers understand applicable instructions.
