Job summary

Great Care Services is seeking a compassionate Residential Care Officer to support participants in daily living and foster independence within a safe, nurturing environment. You will deliver person-centred care, assist with daily tasks, and help clients participate in community activities, travel and SIL housing where needed.

You should have genuine desire to help others, good communication and teamwork skills, and relevant qualifications or willingness to obtain clearances such as WWC, NDIS

Qualifications

• A genuine desire to support people in achieving their goals
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant qualifications in disability services, community services, aged care or related fields (preferred but not always essential)
• Valid Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and relevant clearances, First Aid/CPR
• A current driver's license and reliable transport (where required for travel)

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support to clients, including assistance with daily personal activities
• Help clients with household tasks, community participation, travel assistance, and domestic duties when needed, and assistance in SIL Housing
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and the community
• Monitor, document and report client needs and progress accurately
• Follow individualised care plans and work collaboratively with care team
• Maintain a safe and supportive living environment for clients
