Job summary

Goaldis Community Services is seeking an experienced Residential Care Officer to join our residential services team in Sydney. You will oversee day-to-day delivery of high-quality care at our supported homes and mentor disability support workers to ensure residents receive consistent, person-centred support.

You will coordinate individual support plans, monitor residents’ wellbeing, and liaise with families and health professionals to respond to changing needs.

Qualifications

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Disability, Community Services or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in disability residential care, Supported Independent Living or group housing.
• Experience supervising or guiding disability support workers or residential care staff.
• Experience implementing and monitoring individual support plans and care arrangements.
• Experience supporting people with complex disability and behavioural support needs.
• Sound understanding of person-centred practice and supported residential care.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to guide frontline care staff.
• Strong written communication, documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to respond to changes in residents' support needs.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and other clearances, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day delivery of care and supervision within allocated residences to ensure high-quality, consistent support.
• Provide direct care including personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, and monitoring health, wellbeing, medication, and behaviours.
• Support residents in activities to build independence and daily living skills.
• Offer emotional, psychological, and social support through person-centred engagement.
• Mentor and supervise disability support workers to ensure practices align with plans and standards.
• Coordinate implementation of individual support plans and established routines.
• Liaise with families and health professionals regarding residents’ needs and changes.
