Job summary

Aveo is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep homes and shared spaces safe, functional and well presented within our retirement communities. You’ll handle reactive and preventative tasks, from minor repairs to general handyperson work, while engaging positively with residents.

We value a trade background or strong domestic maintenance experience, a proactive approach, and clear communication. A valid driver’s licence and two COVID-19 vaccinations are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with troubleshooting ability.
• Clear and confident communication with residents.
• A valid driver’s licence is essential and two COVID-19 vaccinations are required.

Responsibilities

• Completing general repairs and handyperson tasks such as painting, picture hanging and light replacements.
• Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers.
• Supporting the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community.
• Managing community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose.
• Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates.
• Being a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team.
