Job summary

Aveo is seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our retirement living communities in Queensland. You will manage reactive and preventative maintenance across homes and shared spaces, perform basic handyperson tasks, and liaise with residents to ensure safety and comfort.

We value a proactive, friendly approach, a valid driver’s licence, and a commitment to resident wellbeing. This role suits someone with trade background or strong domestic maintenance experience and a passion for helping others.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role with hands-on tasks.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with troubleshooting ability.
• Valid driver’s licence is essential.
• Minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations.

Responsibilities

• Completing general repairs and handyperson tasks such as painting, picture hanging and light replacements.
• Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers.
• Supporting the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community.
• Managing community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose.
• Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates.
