Job summary

Macquarie Group in Sydney seeks an experienced investment research professional to cover listed mining, energy and resources. You will build and maintain detailed financial/valuation models, analyse company results and market trends, and support research reports and earnings notes end-to-end.

Collaborating with senior analysts, you will contribute to publications and insights for informed investment decisions.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, valuations or similar.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and quantitative skills.
• Advanced Excel and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Experience covering resources, mining, energy or related sectors preferred.
• CFA qualification (completed or in progress) preferred.
• Experience within a large institutional financial services environment preferred.

Our team provides industry and equity market research across the resources sector. We work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver insights on listed mining, energy and resources companies and support informed investment decisions.

In this role you will support coverage of listed mining, energy and resources companies through financial modelling, company analysis and research production. You will work closely with senior analysts to analyse company performance, monitor market developments and contribute to research reports and publications. You will also collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to support our research offering.

You will build and maintain detailed financial and valuation models, analyse company results, operational performance, commodity markets and industry trends and support the production of research reports, earnings notes and thematic publications.
