Job summary

Insight Timer in Australia seeks a Senior or Lead Analytics Engineer to turn questions into experiments, data models and insights that enhance the app across a user’s lifetime. This hands-on role includes owning metrics, building scalable data systems and mentoring others, with a product-minded focus on delivering lasting value.

You will set technical standards and advance self-serve analytics so teams can answer their own questions, while balancing speed and rigour for impact at scale.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and collaboration with product, engineering and leadership.
• Experience owning analytics end to end, with mentoring for more junior engineers.
• Strong SQL in a modern cloud data warehouse (BigQuery).
• Experience with large, event-based datasets and varied schemas.
• Track record of analysing and interpreting A/B tests; causal inference is a plus.
• Background in maths, statistics, or STEM.Experience with Python, LLM or agentic analytics workflows, and semantic layers.

Responsibilities

• A/B test analysis: interpret experiments and translate results into actionable recommendations for product and eng teams.
• Analytics delivery: answer complex questions and prioritise requests by impact.
• Data ingestion, modelling and metrics: own data ingestion, modelling, and trusted metrics with clean datasets.
• Build self-serve analytics: create tooling, semantic layers and agents to scale analytics beyond the team.
• Product and revenue analysis: analyze user behavior and monetization to improve conversion and lifecycle insights.
• Mentoring and leadership: guide and develop analytics engineers and set technical direction.
• Communication: explain data clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
