Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Public Affairs Coordinator to support government relations, community stakeholders, and industry associations from a remote capacity, ideally based near Queenstown. You will monitor legislative developments, prepare communication materials, and coordinate outreach in media & PR and advocacy spaces.

The role emphasizes research, communication, and organizational skills to foster positive public relations and contribute to civic and corporate responsibility efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Relations, Communications, Law, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in public affairs or government relations.
• Strong research, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with persuasive ability.
• Familiarity with government processes and policy implications.
• Interest in Media & PR and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor government policies, regulations, and industry trends.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and materials for stakeholders.
• Coordinate meetings and events with officials, community leaders, and partners.
• Support development and implementation of public affairs strategies and campaigns.
• Manage databases of contacts and track stakeholder engagement.
• Research public perception, policy issues, and competitor activities.
