Job summary

Digital, a Canberra-based digital marketing agency, seeks an experienced Freelance Paid Media Strategist for a part-time engagement to manage Google Ads and Meta Ads, develop paid acquisition strategies, and translate data into actionable recommendations.

You will work remotely (Australia or New Zealand), about 15 hours per week for six months, applying AI tools to audits and optimisations, and communicating strategy and results to clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in paid media or digital acquisition.
• Hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads.
• Experience managing AUD 20K+ per month budgets.
• Strong optimisation, targeting, bidding, budgeting and performance analysis.
• Experience working directly with clients and providing strategic recommendations.
• Experience using AI tools within marketing workflows.
• Familiarity with GA4, Google Merchant Centre, conversion tracking and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise paid campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads.
• Develop paid acquisition strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Analyse campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
• Manage campaign structure, targeting, budgets, bidding, creative testing and ongoing optimisation.
• Review AI-generated analyses and determine appropriate actions.
• Use AI tools to support marketing analysis and workflows.
• Translate campaign data into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.
• Communicate strategy and performance opportunities with clients.
• Balance performance with brand, creative, and customer journey considerations.
• Collaborate with analytics, dashboards, and tracking specialists.
