Job summary

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania is seeking a Host Ranger for the Three Capes Track. This permanent, part-time role involves welcoming walkers, sharing local stories, offering accurate information, and handling bookings and cabin upkeep along a renowned Tasmania coastal route.

Ideal candidates have strong storytelling and customer service skills, a passion for the outdoors, fitness for bushwalking, and relevant safety registrations.

Qualifications

• Strong storytelling ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ready to engage with and captivate visitors.
• Commitment to creating exceptional customer experiences.
• Passion for the outdoors, natural and cultural heritage.
• Physical fitness and bushwalking experience.
• Working with Vulnerable People registration.
• Wilderness and/or Workplace Level 2 First Aid qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Represent the PWS and provide accurate information, interpretation, and practical support to walkers on the Three Capes Track.
• Manage bookings and assist with cabin maintenance to a high standard.
• Engage guests through storytelling and share knowledge of the area’s natural and cultural heritage.
