You will handle claims processing, payment posting, AR follow-up, and collections using eClinicalWorks (eCW). Remote work is supported, with a 40-hour workweek and standard business hours. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on medical billing and full-cycle revenue cycle management.
• Recent experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health billing.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) billing functions.
• Experience handling patient and insurance billing.
• Knowledge of Medicare Part B billing.
• Strong understanding of psychiatric CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• HIPAA knowledge with training or certification.
• Proficiency in Excel for revenue cycle reporting.
• Excellent English communication.
• Familiarity with electronic claims systems and payer portals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle psychiatric and behavioral health medical billing.
• Review claims, balances, and billing records for accuracy.
• Investigate denied or underpaid claims and assist with corrections and appeals.
• Maintain payment records and AR information.
• Apply ICD-10 and CPT codes per payer requirements.
• Use eCW to navigate accounts, review claims, generate statements and billing reports.
• Follow procedures for claim corrections and insurance follow-up.
• Respond to patient inquiries and communicate with insurers.
• Explain statements, copays, deductibles, and balances clearly.
• Follow up on outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
• Verify patient identity and protect privacy.
• Communicate empathetically with patients and escalate as needed.
• Prepare and review AR, claims, payments, and billing performance reports.
• Extract and analyze billing information with Excel.
• Identify discrepancies and overdue balances needing attention.
• Coordinate with staff and external providers for workflows.
• Participate in billing meetings and apply training updates.
• Maintain documentation of billing activities and changes to processes.
• Meet service timelines and deliverables per independent contractor agreement.
