Job summary

RAATSIC is seeking a Family Support Worker – Level 3 to join our Family Wellbeing Program, based in Cairns, with travel to remote Cape York communities.

You will assess family needs holistically, build family capabilities, advocate across services, and support parenting, budgeting and household skills with practical services.

The role emphasizes culturally safe engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, ensuring privacy, collaboration, and child safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive and holistic assessment of family needs.
• Ability to build family capacity and connections using a holistic approach.
• Advocacy and coordination across multiple service providers to support families.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive family support through case management for children and families eligible for the program.
• Deliver emotional and practical support to empower families and promote safety and connection.
• Implement timely intervention strategies to address immediate safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate client records in appropriate databases with up-to-date documentation.
