Job summary

UnitingCare Community in Longreach is seeking a Child and Family Remote Support Worker to provide mobile services across rural and remote communities as part of the Remote Area Families Service (RAFS). Based in Longreach, you will travel to communities, deliver early childhood development and family support programs, and build trusted relationships with families and local stakeholders.

Approximately 60% of working hours involve travel and overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary qualification, or be enrolled in Children's Services, Community Services, Counselling or a related discipline.
• Experience working with children, families and communities in early childhood education or related field.
• Strong understanding of child development and family support practices.
• Experience facilitating programs, workshops or group activities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Support children and families to achieve positive outcomes.
• Deliver early childhood development and family support programs.
• Facilitate workshops, playgroups and community education activities.
• Build relationships with families, community organisations and First Nations communities.
• Travel throughout regional and remote Queensland as part of a mobile service delivery model.
• Maintain accurate case records and work with a supportive team.
