Job summary

UnitingCare Community is seeking a Child and Family Remote Support Worker based in Longreach, with travel to rural and remote locations. You will deliver evidence-based programs to strengthen family wellbeing and child development, working within the Remote Area Families Service (RAFS).

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary qualification, or be enrolled in Children's Services, Community Services, Counselling or a related discipline.
• Experience working with children, families and communities in early childhood education, community services or a related field.
• Strong understanding of child development and family support practices.
• Experience facilitating programs, workshops or group activities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
• A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice.
• Current Queensland driver’s licence.
• Blue Card.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support children and families to achieve positive outcomes
• Deliver early childhood development and family support programs
• Facilitate workshops, playgroups and community education activities
• Build strong relationships with families, community organisations and First Nations communities
• Travel throughout regional and remote Queensland as part of a mobile service delivery model
• Work with a supportive team that values innovation, collaboration and continuous learning
