Job summary

Openx Doors is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead design and engineering for large door systems across aviation, defense, mining and industrial sectors.

You will oversee multiple projects, coordinate with engineers, draftsmen and construction teams, and ensure design compliance, scheduling and documentation are met. Strong leadership, communication and travel readiness are essential assets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction and engineering industries.
• Proficiency in 2D drafting, steel detailing and drafting automation.
• Strong project management, decision-making, time-management and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; English as primary language.
• Ability to build relationships with clients, associations, authorities and consultants.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across locations.

Responsibilities

• Design Management: lead large, high‑compliance projects with the drafting team.
• Design Drafting: produce 2D and 3D concept and detailed drawings for ETO projects.
• Project Management: track progress, budgets and lead times across the engineering dept.
• Manufacturing Documentation: manage BOMs and MTOs with drafting support.
• Engineering Liaison & Certification: coordinate mechanical and structural certification with external subcontractors.
• Installation Documentation: create site-specific installation drawings and procedures.
• Project Documentation: prepare operation manuals, design briefs and as-built records.
• Customer Liaison: communicate designs and provide guidance during pre-construction.
• Quality Control: verify outputs against design specs and BOMs.
• Information Handover: lead handover to procurement and production team.
• Safety and Risk: lead safety analyses and DFMEA for designs.
• Product Improvements: review performance and implement design enhancements.
• Site Assessment Support: occasionally visit sites for surveys and fault finding.
• Mentor and Training: train new engineers and draftsmen.
• Prototype Development: coordinate development and testing of prototypes.
• Supplier Liaison: provide technical explanations to fabricators and suppliers.
