Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support creation and delivery of communications about our work. You will draft and plan content for internal and external channels, including our website, newsletters, events, and social media.

The role involves collaboration with the Senior Communications Advisor, liaising with contractors such as designers and videographers, and contributing to multimedia content development. Travel may be required and a hybrid work model is supported.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably in not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems and social media platforms (including Monday.com).
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in development or commissioning of multimedia content (videos, graphics).
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
