Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. You’ll work with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and create clear, concise communications about HumanAbility’s projects.

You’ll handle internal and external communications including our website, newsletters, events and social media. The role may liaise with contractors like designers, videographers, and developers.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or equivalent.
• Experience in a Communications team, ideally not-for-profit or government.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
• Proficiency with CMS, social media, and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences.
• Work closely with other teams to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in development or commissioning multimedia content, including videos and graphics.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
