Alignerr is seeking a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert to help train and improve AI models. You will design challenging chemistry problems spanning undergraduate to graduate topics and develop clear, step-by-step solutions with sound reasoning.

Remote, hourly contract, 10–40 hours per week. Ideal candidates hold a Master's or higher in Chemistry or a related field and can communicate complex science clearly in writing. No AI experience required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or closely related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly in writing.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging chemistry problems to test AI performance across domains such as chemical engineering, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and more.
• Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with logically sound reasoning that can be used to evaluate AI outputs.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth of reasoning, and overall quality.
• Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate through Master's-level chemistry topics.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that helps improve AI model behavior over time.
