Job summary

Axon is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Australia-based, remote team. You will help build and maintain reliable, scalable cloud platforms, enabling product teams to deliver features with high availability and performance.

You’ll work with engineers, implement IaC, and participate in on-call rotations, while growing under senior mentors in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• About 1 year of experience in a software engineering, SRE, or infrastructure role.
• Australian government security clearance, or ability to obtain clearance (AUS citizenship) required.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C#, Java, or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
• Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, APM).
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts (e.g., Terraform, ARM, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Exposure to AI development tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms and tools.
• Apply site reliability engineering principles to improve system stability and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in distributed cloud-native systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support service reliability and operational excellence.
• Create and maintain documentation to support engineers and improve self-service capabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, learning best practices along the way.
• Grow your skills under the guidance of senior team members, while contributing to team knowledge sharing.
