Job summary

Better Health Company is seeking an Aboriginal Health Coach to deliver phone-based health coaching and support services across Australia. The role is remote, with option for onsite at Abbotsford, VIC, and can be full-time or part-time.

You will engage families, provide practical health guidance, and help tailor resources to be culturally safe. Ideal candidates identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, hold a health-field qualification, and can work independently or in a team while

Qualifications

• Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
• Has a qualification in a health field (e.g. nutrition, nursing, health promotion).
• Can build strong relationships with different people.
• Works well independently and in a team.
• Is well organized and good at managing time.
• Has or is willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
• Has or is willing to obtain a police check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver phone-based health coaching and support services across programs.
• Give practical advice on healthy eating, physical activity, and screen time.
• Help families set small goals and sustain positive changes.
• Connect with communities and stakeholders to build relationships.
• Share knowledge to ensure culturally relevant training for staff.
• Advise and support the team on Aboriginal cultural matters.
• Assist with follow-ups, data entry, and promotional activities.
• Participate in training and quality improvement activities.
• Create and adapt resources to be culturally safe for Aboriginal families.
