Job summary

Sts Peter and Paul Primary School in Canberra’s inner south is seeking a Religious Education Coordinator to lead spiritual and ethical formation across the school community. You will oversee a rich curriculum, guide liturgies and faith-based programs within a collaborative Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching, be ACT TQI registered, WWVP cleared, and be a practising Catholic with parish support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching required.
• ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration required.
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance required.
• Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.
• Be a practising Catholic with parish reference.

Responsibilities

• Lead spiritual and ethical formation of the school community.
• Oversee delivery of a rich faith-based curriculum and related programs.
• Guide liturgies and social justice initiatives.
• Collaborate with Leadership Team on school culture and faith formation.

About the Role

Religious Education Coordinators (RECs) are entrusted with leading the spiritual and ethical formation of the school community. RECs oversee the delivery of a rich and engaging curriculum that not only explores faith traditions but also encourages students to think critically about values, purpose, and moral responsibility. Through guiding liturgies, social justice initiatives, and faith-based programs, RECs help shape a school culture where students are empowered to live with compassion, respect, and integrity. The REC would be part of a highly collaborative, supportive and experienced Leadership Team.
