Job summary

Children's Cancer Institute in Sydney seeks an experienced Relationship Manager in the Philanthropy Team to lead the Gifts in Wills and Mid-Value program, strengthen supporter relationships, and drive sustainable income growth through strategic engagement.

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Marketing to shape engagement strategies, expand the donor pipeline, and deliver face-to-face meetings, events, and personalised communications that deepen connection to our mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in not-for-profit or commercial sectors.
• Degree or equivalent in business/marketing or relevant field.
• Experience leading fundraising/strategic initiatives and stakeholder management.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets.

As a Relationship Manager within the Philanthropy Team this role will be responsible for leading an established Gifts in Wills and Mid-Value program that strengthens supporter relationships, expands the donor pipeline, and drives sustainable income growth. Through exceptional stewardship, personalised engagement, and strategic acquisition, you will build long‑term loyalty from donors.

Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Marketing you will shape engagement strategies and further establish the Gifts in Wills and Mid-Value programs as important growth portfolios of the Institute, helping grow a pipeline of dedicated supporters that will fuel future research breakthroughs in childhood cancer research.

This role will spend significant time connecting with supporters through face‑to‑face meetings, events, phone calls, personalised communications, lab tours, and other meaningful experiences that deepen connection to our mission and inspire transformational support.

To succeed you will have…

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the not-for-profit or commercial sector
• Degree level or equivalent qualification in a business, marketing, or relevant field with demonstrated capability in fundraising/sales, stakeholder, and financial management.
• Evidence of management experience in a similar role, to include leadership and strategy development, people management
• Experience contributing to a fundraising or commercial strategy including its implementation, business planning, reporting and preparation of presentations for senior management and board teams.
• Ability to achieve results despite high dependency & ambiguity, and be seen as an SME across organisation
• Experience of working to tight deadlines and budgets.
• Ability to use Microsoft suite, and Salesforce
