Job summary

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is highly desirable.
• Skills and experience in human services, welfare, education or a related field are also highly desirable.
• Knowledge of prisoner transition and reintegration is desirable.
• Assessment skills or the ability to learn approved risk assessment tools is desirable.
• Resilience and flexibility to manage changing needs and work with hard-to-reach individuals.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with prisoners, prison staff and service providers.

Responsibilities

• You will assess prisoners' risks and needs and help people access programs and services that support their transition into the community.
• Complete risk and needs assessments and review each person's progress.
• Coordinate reintegration programs and support people preparing for release.
• Work with prison staff and service providers to arrange programs, referrals and support.
• Maintain accurate records and program data to help plan and review services.
• Work with Community Correctional Services to share information for parole planning and release decisions.
