Job summary

Internationalinsuranceprofessionals in Sydney seeks a Regulatory Accountant to support APRA Prudential and financial reporting, ensuring governance, controls and high-quality outcomes within a regulated environment.

You will contribute to process improvements, assist with technical accounting matters and help strengthen reporting frameworks through automation and data quality enhancements.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in financial reporting or regulatory reporting within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and IFRS.
• Exposure to APRA prudential or regulatory reporting would be highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
• Experience working with large datasets and reporting systems.
• Exposure to SQL, Python or other data tools would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare regulatory returns and ensure reporting obligations are delivered accurately and on time.
• Assist with statutory and financial reporting requirements, including periodic financial statements and board reporting.
• Prepare head office reporting and maintain supporting documentation.
• Support interpretation of regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Maintain detailed working papers, documentation and audit evidence.
• Respond to regulatory and audit enquiries in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk and Technology teams to improve reporting processes and data quality.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting activities and improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to finance projects focused on governance, controls and continuous improvement.
