Job summary

Mega International Commercial Bank Sydney Branch is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Division Officer to join the Finance team in Sydney. You will report to the Head of Accounting and work with Finance, Operations, Risk and external auditors to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CPA, CA or equivalent (completed or in progress).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting, taxation, audit or related finance role.
• Experience in banking, financial services or an ADI environment is highly regarded.
• Experience preparing Income Tax Returns, GST BAS and APRA reporting.
• Experience working with external auditors.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet) and variance analysis.
• Perform month-end and year-end accounting processes including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Assist with annual financial statements and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Taxation compliance including income tax calculations and tax provisions.
• Prepare GST, Pillar Two, CbC Reporting and other taxation compliance requirements.
• Coordinate interim and year-end external audits; respond to auditor requests.
• Support finance projects, system enhancements and regulatory change initiatives.
