Job summary

Beaumont & Beaumont in Canberra seeks a Senior Investigations Officer (Regulatory) at the APS6 level to join the Regulatory Division of a Commonwealth Government Agency. The role is full-time for an initial 12 months, with a potential extension, and hybrid work may be considered.

The ideal candidate will apply a risk-based approach to investigations, lead junior staff, and prepare high-quality briefs for decision-makers. A baseline security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience performing investigations within Commonwealth Government or related professional environments.
• Experience leading investigations or audits, quality checks or similar processes.
• Highly organised and able to work with compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information.

Responsibilities

• Apply a risk-based approach to investigations into potential anti‑avoidance schemes under various legislations.
• Use data and intelligence tools to identify high-risk behaviours, entities and schemes.
• Prepare high‑quality briefs, reports and correspondence for decision-makers.
• Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff as required.
