Goulburn Valley Health is offering a 12‑month structured program to help Registered Nurses transition into mental health nursing. The role provides orientation, supervision and support to achieve competencies and autonomous practice while working within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals with individuals, families and networks.

The program emphasizes professional development, service development and evaluation, with a fixed term part‑time arrangement ending January 2028.

About the role:

This role has been established to enable Registered Nurses to transition from acute nursing into mental health nursing and build on skills and competencies relevant to the field. This 12-month structured program provides orientation, supervision and support to meet competencies and to engage in autonomous practice while working as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with individuals, families, networks working towards recovery goals.

The applicant will have:

• Successful completion of a graduate year in registered nursing at a minimum
• Experience in a range of nursing interventions
• Have a commitment to professional development, service development and evaluation
