Job summary

Ryde Hospital, part of Northern Sydney Local Health District, is seeking a dynamic full-time Nurse Screener to join the Integrated Booking Unit and plan the elective surgery journey for patients. You will assess and screen bookings to ensure safe, timely care.

Applicants must be an RN registered with AHPRA, able to assess patients, coordinate pre-operative requirements and communicate effectively with families and the healthcare team. Annual salary is aligned with NSW Health, with a 38-hour week.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be responsible for screening all elective surgery bookings and liaising with key stakeholders to ensure safe and timely delivery of care.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority(AHPRA).
• Demonstrated ability to assess patients, identify clinical concerns and escalation issues when required.
• Ability to review referrals, complete patient screening and coordinate pre-operative requirements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills when working with patients, families and the healthcare team.
