Job summary

St John of God Geelong Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the 2 North night duty team in a permanent position. The ward provides orthopaedic and urology care, with a supportive multidisciplinary environment and flexible FTE options.

You will be an patient-focused, collaborative clinician with strong communication skills, capable of supervising staff and contributing to high standards of care during overnight shifts. AHPRA registration is essential.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• Hospital environment experience preferred.
• Orthopaedic and/or urology nursing experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care during night shifts.
• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care throughout the night.
• Promote effective communication and teamwork within the department and across the hospital.
• Educate patients and act as a clinical resource where appropriate.
• Supervise staff and students as required, including orientation and preceptorship.
• Identify and respond to changes in patients' clinical condition and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to hospital objectives and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The role provides an excellent opportunity for Registered Nurses seeking a consistent night duty roster within a supportive and experienced surgical team.**2 North is a 30-bed Orthopaedic and Urology surgical ward**, providing specialised care to post-operative patients following a diverse range of procedures.
