St John of God Geelong Hospital in Geelong, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our 2 North Orthopaedic and Urology surgical ward on a permanent part-time basis at 30 hours per week.

You will provide safe, patient-centred care, assist with post-operative recovery, wound care and mobilization, and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Experience in acute care, surgical or relevant healthcare environment.
• Orthopaedic or Urology experience highly regarded; strong clinical skills in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to safe, high-quality patient care and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, patient-centred nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and escalate concerns as needed.
• Deliver post-operative care for Orthopaedic and Urology patients including monitoring, wound care and mobilisation.
• Administer medications within scope of practice and ensure accurate documentation.

Your Position at St John of God Geelong Hospital

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our highly skilled 2 North surgical team at St John of God Geelong Hospital on a permanent part‑time basis at 30 hrs per week. 2 North is a 30‑bed Orthopaedic and Urology surgical ward providing high-quality care to patients following a range of surgical procedures. This includes Orthopaedic procedures such as joint replacements, ligament repairs and fracture repairs, as well as Urology procedures ranging from kidney stone extraction through to major robotic surgery. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team while developing your clinical skills across a diverse range of post‑operative patients. You will play an important role in delivering safe, compassionate and patient‑centred care throughout the surgical journey. Position Responsibilities

The Position Provides safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care to allocated patients in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, Care Paths and the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice. Undertakes and contributes to comprehensive patient assessments, recognising changes in clinical condition and escalating concerns appropriately. Provides high-quality post-operative nursing care to patients following Orthopaedic and Urology procedures, including monitoring recovery, pain management, wound care and mobilisation. Supports patients throughout their recovery following procedures including joint replacements, ligament repairs, fracture repairs, kidney stone extraction and robotic surgery. Administers medications and treatments within the scope of practice and in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Monitors patients for complications or deterioration and promptly communicates concerns to the Registered Nurse and wider multidisciplinary team. Assists with the planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and multidisciplinary team. Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation and provides effective clinical handover to support continuity of care. Promotes positive relationships with patients, families, medical staff, nursing colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team. Supports safe discharge planning by providing patients and families with appropriate education and information regarding their ongoing care and recovery. Ensures Infection Prevention and Management policies and procedures are understood, adhered to and implemented in clinical practice.

About You

You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse, with recent clinical experience in an acute care, surgical or relevant healthcare environment. Previous Orthopaedic or Urology experience will be highly regarded; however, we are also interested in Enrolled Nurses with strong acute clinical skills who are looking to further develop their surgical nursing experience. To succeed in this role, you will have well-developed clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, a commitment to safe and high-quality patient care, and the ability to recognise and appropriately escalated changes in a patient's condition. You will be compassionate, organised and patient‑focused, with a genuine commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience throughout the surgical journey. The Benefits

• Salary: $67,387 to $88,460 (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
• Permanent part time up to 30 hrs per week
